Women's Empowerment Programme is working to empower women in disparaged communities, in rural Sindh Pakistan. Most women in these communities have never seen a school due to cultural pressures that does not allow a girl to go out of their village, and due to a lack of local school makes it even harder to access education. In many cases according to custom and tradition, girls are forced to become child brides which completely deprives girls and women of their rights.
Women's Empowerment Programme (WEP) is working to change that through reaching out to rural women, raising awareness about the importance of education, and providing them with opportunities of training, advocacy, and counseling that enables them to believe in themselves, believe in education, and makes them a role model of change in their communities.
